Do you see any differences? Neither do I.
The first time I read the passage of that sound that lasted "through all ages" it instantly reminded me of the Lion King movie's Circle of Life. It consists with the similar, scattered wording. Like Woolf's book, it closes out the movie with the same song, just as Woolf closes out the passage with the repetition of her song. The old woman singing the ancient song in Woolf's book sings of love and death- "love that has lasted a million years." She reflects on the time when her lover had been with her in the month of May while singing her song about the continuity of life. In The Lion King, the movie finishes with the birth of a new king, which symbolizes the continuity of life through new life and the start of a new cycle.
